Activities of Gundoo Daaseli
Kibori Madish started this type of farming in his village of birth Kubori. It is situated in a remote area west of the White Volta River, called “Overseas” in Ghana. Since 2001 Madish and his family run a model farm for biological agriculture, concentrating on making and using compost, planting trees, sowing of legume plants (nitrogen fixation; making nitrate available in the soil), and prevention of bush fires. Information Next to his own way of sustainable farming, Madish explains his methods to farmers in the surrounding villages and since 2013 they, in turn, demonstrate it to other farmers., Madish is supported by GOAP for his work, enabling him to get additional agricultural training and follow courses. In 2014 GOAP has arranged, through the Van Rumpt-foundation, a rice threshing machine for a group of rice farmers in the Gundoo-Daaseli area. Microcredits Madish also guides a number of women groups in the formation of joint trade projects, using microcredits.
